Tunable Optics

Most WDM systems today are based on Optical Transceivers with a fixed wavelength or lambda, that means: a spare for each wavelength in use. Tunable Optical Transceivers are the solution to reduce spares. Tunable means the capability to adjust the wavelength of the transceiver on site to the required lambda. Opticonnect offers a range of Tunable transceivers for communication over optical fiber at data speeds up to 10 Gigabit per second (Gbps) and distances up to 80 km. With these transceivers you can change wavelengths unlimited within the C-band DWDM ITU Grid.

Tuning these optics can be done by us and some intelligent networking devices can do it for you. The transceivers can be used in various types of equipment such as switches, routers and servers from different vendors. On all these products a warranty period of three years applies.

The Tunable XFP optics are provide with an integrated full C-ban tunable transmitter and a high performance PIN receiver. You can request to set any 50GH DWDM ITU Grid wavelength as default. Our Tunable XFP transceivers are available for two different distances. We offer Tunable XFP optics covering distances up to 40km with an 14 dB power budget and a distance up to 80km with an 22dB power budget. sppd-er TTunable SFP+ transceivers
